Lake Anna was nearby as well as several nice cideries and wineries that we visited. If you can brave the cold I would go now as the combination of open field, fall colors, and red streaked sky at sunset was unbeatable. There is lots of space between sites and you get plenty of privacy. The farm dogs also visited us (3 of them) and they were extremely friendly and stayed by our tents to guard and made us feel very safe. They both depend on fresh water to lay their eggs. It was very cold the night we camped (28F low) but there was plenty of firewood and the fire-pit was large enough for my group to stay plenty toasty.
